Next up in our countdown of the hottest 100 gadgets on the planet is the Lenovo K800 smartphone

Intel’s plan to dislodge ARM processors from our favourite smartphones is finally blossoming with the arrival of the new Medfield chips.

The speedy Lenovo K800 will be the first handset to integrate the single-core 1.6GHz processor, which arrives packing a gorgeous 4.5-inch, 720p display.

The chunky (by today’s standards) K800 will arrive running a heavily-skinned version of Android 2.3 that the Chinese calling is calling Clove UI.

Intel will have to compete with a host of quad-core phones as 2012 progresses, so can Medfield keep pace?
