The desire for affordable Android tablets has never been higher, but few self-respecting gadget hounds will part with £100 for those ASDA Value bricks. So where’s the middle ground? With Amazon stalling on bringing the Kindle Fire to the UK, enter Acer with a well-specced Ice Cream Sandwich slate for under £300. This 10.1-inch multi-touch tablet boasts an Nvdia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM and plenty of connectivity options (Wi-Fi, USB and Micro USB, Bluetooth and GPS).
The shapely Iconia Tab A200 might not match the very top level Android tabs like the ASUS EeePad Transformer Prime and the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, but it’s a solid performer at an agreeable price.
