As people less tech-savvy than you struggle to come up to speed with HD, it’s time for you to move on, already: 4K is the future.

You’re going to be hearing plenty about it, so get your pub ammo ready: 4K refers to any static or moving image that has a horizontal resolution of 4,000 pixels and up, though “quad full HD” devices with a horizontal resolution of 3840 pixels are also generally included in the 4K bracket.

Sony, LG, Toshiba and Sharp are leading the way, Sony with projectors and upscaling Blu-ray decks and the others with 4K TVs.
