Loewe Connect 37 DR+
Stream Loewe-Luxury gogglebox maker Loewe is back with more telly eye candy
This time served up with a generous side order of media meat. What we're trying to say is that this smart-looking TV comes with its own 160GB digital video recorder for storing up to 200 hours of footage, and streams movies, music and photos from your PC.
Streaming uses either Ethernet or Wi-Fi, it's a breeze to set up and for the most part delivers as it should. DivX and XviD videos work well, and music sounds pretty clear through the speakers, although the menu is a bit sluggish to use. Speed is also an issue for the recorder, which has the features of Sky+ (pause/rewind live TV, nifty EPG) but not quite the same level of simplicity and slickness
But while the features are impressive, it's a great telly in its own right, delivering a corking picture with blessed with crisp edges, natural colours and smooth motion, with Standard and HD content. Tech-wise, Loewe is still playing catch-up to the likes of Philips and Pioneer, so it's not the very apex of image quality -- but it's not far off either.
