Pure Digital Evoke 1s
Eco maniac.
The planet must be saved. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger's taking time out to do that these days - and he doesn't even have time to bleed.
It's good, then, to see Pure following the Californian Governator's lead with its new, eco-friendly DAB radio, which is powered by recycled and sustainable stuff, and that.
Wearing a coat of classic silver and maple, the Evoke-1S is the latest addition to Pure's Ecoplus range. It still has the understated and unmistakable Pure look - that's a nice way of saying it looks exactly the same as all its previous models, by the way - and remains just as simple to use. Plug it in and it auto-tunes everything for you in moments.
The new organic light-emitting diode, or "screen" as we like to say, is very clear as it's in leccy-saving monochrome, and allows you to scroll through stations and future programs with flagrant ease.
Features-wise, the Evoke-1s still has the kitchen timer and USB port found on previous models, but now - for added green-ness - it has reduced power consumption and optional rechargeable battery pack, which boasts a fairly impressive digital life of 24 hours.
Just like Arnie, the Evoke-1s sounds booming, and has power aplenty and an eco-warrior complex. We might just save this crazy damn planet after all.
