Wii Wheel

The karting classic is back, and with it comes a brand new toy

With familiar N64 and SNES features tussling with new characters, tracks and hidden dimensions its back.

The Wii Wheel that comes with it is a control revelation, ok you can use the Wii mote, Classic or 64' controllers - they're actually easier - but what's the point? It's not half as fun as wildly oversteering off ice tracks, dirt tracks or a mine path.

So what of the game? There are more weapons than ever, including a canon to propel you to the end of your lap, so even the lamest driver can claim glory. You can do battle with friends online now, but none of the unique quirkiness of Mario Kart has been lost - the power ups and traps mean you can lead from the start, build up a huge lead, then lose it all inches from the finishing line, but you still feel joyous rather than homicidal.
