Burnout Paradise (PS3)

Burn Baby Burn- Get your daily dose of destruction here

Call it twisted but the truth is the masses love a bit of rough and tumble, exhausts flying everywhere and cars reduced to nothing but rubble. Luckily for them, the modern day classic has returned to fulfill all twisted needs of destruction and anarchy.

The world is your oyster, well Paradise city is, as you are free to roam anywhere on the sprawling city map picking off battles, from races, stunts, to a good old fashioned crash. This GTA style format means you are flexible to build up your license the way you want to, adding a feel of freedom to the game.

Car control is much more responsive than previous versions and the range of cars is the most the game has ever seen. All this set on an unbelievable backdrop of brilliant visuals with draw dropping graphics and cracking ultra slow-mo replays make Burnout a must buy on the PS3, but there are drawbacks.

With no multi player apart from network play the solo player version does get extremely repetitive, only the most sadistic can look at hundreds of crashes day in, day out. Plus the solo missions at first seem plentiful, but in reality there is a serious lack of variety for the hardcore gamer. However, if you only worried about destruction, burnout does exactly what it says on the tin.

Visually spectacular while delivering its classic slow-mo replays and trademark crashes, its not quite paradise, more of a holiday on the Costa Del Sol, enjoyable for a short while but you know you will begging to get home to blighty.
