Every year in tech is a year of innovation. TVs get sharper, computers get faster and everything gets cheaper.

But the next 12 months will be a vintage year. Movies and games are rocking up in 3D. Motion-controlled consoles with Microsoft's Kinect and Sony's PlayStation Move are making gaming more immersive and accessible. Hi-def gaming via services like OnLive is eliminating the need for consoles altogether. Tablet PCs are making newspapers and magazines interactive experiences with video, audio and live web content. Never before has so much real innovation come along at once.
