Where Apple goes, the rest shall surely follow. Since the iPad entered our lives and the iPad 2 landed this year, fellow manufacturers have been attempting to emulate the success of the 'revolutionary' Apple tablet.
Just as it was at CES, IFA 2011 has seen a slew of new tablet devices announced, all hoping to prise the money from out of your pocket.
From the Android tablets literated by Android 3.1 and 3.2 Honeycomb, to yet more Windows 7 powered devices, see the tablets that will be hoping give the iPad a run for its money.
Acer Iconia Tab A100
Joining the likes of the Galaxy Tab and the Flyer, Acer's 7-inch tablet offering runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Behind the 1024x600 display the Iconia Tab AT100 rocks the same 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor found in the Galaxy Tab and the Xoom, 512MB RAM and the standard one-front-one-back camera setup for video calling and regular photo snapping (5MP on the back, 2MP on the front).

Samsung Galaxy 7.7
Set to be the world's first tablet to feature a Super AMOLED Plus display, the revamp of the original Galaxy Tab is just 7.89mm thin and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor. Running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb with "Samsung TouchWiz UX", other notable features include full 1080p HD playback, MicroSD card support for up to 32GB and the ability to use the Tab 7.7 as a universal remote for your TV, set-top box and other devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note
Like a Samsung Galaxy S2 but a little bit bigger, the Dell Streak-like device features a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED full touchscreen display. The smartphone/tablet hybrid also includes a S Pen stylus, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor. NFC support is optional while the 8-megapixel main camera with LED Flash is not too shabby either.

Samsung Series 7Slate PC 700T
Following on from its Android efforts the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung has unveiled its first Windows 7 tablet device. Aimed at business-minded folk, the 7Slateruns on Windows 7 Home Premium, is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor and also has a optional dock cradle, Bluetooth keyboard and pressure sensitive digitiser pen to turn it into a laptop/tablet hybrid.

Sony P and S tablets
The tablet duo finally get their official names along with a UK release date. Aimed at media-savvy folk, the S tablet has a 9.4-inch touchscreen, a powerful Tegra 2 processor and will let you access content from the new Reader Store and play original PlayStation games.
The Sony P tablet hosts dual screens, has Wi-Fi and 3G support and is powered by the same Tegra 2 processor. Wi-Fi versions of the P and S will run on Android 3.1, with 3G/Wi-Fi models coming ready with Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

Toshiba AT100 tablet
The 10.1-inch tablet is the follow up to the Thrive tablet which received a mixed response when it landed. Under the hood the Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet packs the same Tegra 2 processor found in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, 32GB of onboard storage and a seven-hour battery life. Toshiba will surely be hoping its second tablet gets a much better reception.

Toshiba AT200
Toshiba's second tablet offering measures in at super slim 25.7cm, the 10-inch slate runs on Android Honeycomb 3.2 and includes a 5-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras, stereo speakers and HDMI port for streaming HD content. There's support for micro USB, micro SD Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with up to 64GB of internal storage. It supports Flash ans on the apps front, you'll get access to the Android Market and the new Toshiba Places cloud-based content service.
