T3 Top Ten: Music download services
Nokia brings the new music but who makes our top ten?
Nokia unleashed its long awaited digital jukebox "Comes with Music"into our lug holes this morning, but here's our round-up of the other "not so new" musical download sites to tickle your melodic eardrums:
1.iTunes
Sitting pretty at the top of the list, is the one, the only, the downloading champion iTunes. It thwarts the rest with lightning downloading speed and its monumental library of songs, albums and the long awaited, drum roll please, movies.
Exclusive to O2 brethren, but if you're one of those "I've so got an iPhone" customers, the O2 Active world is yours to explore. Don't expect much though and if you've forked out for the 3Gesus, you'll need to start saving for the tunes, as they'll set you back 99p a pop.
3.e-music
Offering 25 free downloads as we type, get on it and click the hyperlink to access the world that offers 3.5millons songs for your perusal.
We're still waiting for the Tesco Value singles, but for the time being we're happy to fork out 79 pence of our hard earned cash.
5.Rhapsody
One mini payment for trillions of songs- could life get any better?
6.We7
A relatively new kid on the downloading block, but manages to rock it by tempting us with Simply Red for under a tenner.
7.7digital
Search the latest singles and album chart, oh and you can also purchase that song from the Muller advert. All together now "Got my hands, got my head, got my heart, got my blah, blah, blah."
8.Napster
No longer free, but pretty darn cheap. Napster still reigns supreme in download land even with its Mac-hating tracks.
The daddy of music shops has finally caught up with downloads, and we're still in the 21st century.
10.Play.com
Download the latest chunes for the mini amount of 65p.
