GoogleMaps launches Nearby Places You Might Like
GoogleMaps recommends you have what he's having
GoogleMaps has launched a location based service that makes recommendations based on other local user reviews. If you’re bored of going to the same places or doing the same thing every weekend, ‘Nearby Places You Might Like’ might have something to offer.
Similar to Amazon with shopping and Pandora with music, type in where you think you'd like to go and Big Brother will suggest where else you might like (or should) go using other user reviews and ratings. It will also throw in a few curve balls just in case you weren't sure what you fancied.

Based on the idea that everyone has an opinion on where to eat, and ensuring that we don't draw all our opinions from AA Gill, Nearby Places aims to expand your interests and allow you to experiment at independently reviewed restaurants tailored to your own personal location.
Google admits that the add-on is still under work, so expect a recommendation for Lidl alongside your classy wine bars for a while yet. We just want to find that café where Harry met Sally…
