LCD tellies often suffer from ghosting, where fast-moving images blur slightly. Sadly, this spanking new Toshiba model is one such TV, so gamers and sports fans will be forced to contend with more smearing than a playschool finger-painting session. Aside from that, this is a decent TV. There's a 1080p screen that displays both HD and standard-def material cleanly and brightly, and the contrast range is reasonably good for LCD. Sound from the speakers is lively too, and a subwoofer out means you can add extra low-end grunt. It's not enough to make it the best choice out there, but here's hoping Toshiba's upcoming top of the range Z series will make up for it.
