Bose Quiet-Comfort 2 headphones
Block out the din of everyday life with Bose's premium-priced noise-cancelling cans.
Bose is one of the pioneers of noise-cancelling technology, and its mastery of the field is evident as soon as you drop these cans over your lugholes and flick the "on" switch. Background noise melts into a barely audible hum, kept at bay not only by clever technical wizardry but by the comfortable closed-cup design.
The headphones provide remarkably clean sound quality, supplying crisp gunshots, anguished cries of pain and rumbling explosions on Half-Life 2 on the PC, not to mention sparkling sonics from our MP3 player.
Also included are a tough, hardened carry case and a couple of plug adapters. That said, there's no way these are worth £275 - they're a bit better than the Panasonic cans, both in sound quality and noise reduction, but not £195 better.
