Could it be Marantz magic?

If you're yet to side with a Hi-Def format and can't quite bring yourself to give your old DVD collection to Oxfam, the upscaling Marantz DV7001 could be your salvation.

Slotting home a full-HD 1080p upscaling processor, Marantz has turned its nose up at the new crop of Hi-Def spinners. Outputting at 1080p via HDMI, colours are punchy, while motion's handled majestically.

Images lack the killer purity of HD in its true glory, but it gives your old DVDs a right old wash and brush up.

As a bonus, it can handle DVD-Audio and SACD, making it a top hi-fi too.
