The Xtreme 770 is a witheringly fast system based on Intel's Santa Rosa tech, built around a beefy processor and NVIDIA's latest mobile graphics chip. Rock's monster makes mincemeat of our test games, but it can't match the Alienware for gaming grunt.

Whether you like the look depends on how you feel about etched aluminium and metallic orange, but most of the time you'll be too engrossed in ogling games or HD-DVDs on the high-res screen to notice.
