Freedom Input Keyboard

A fold-away Bluetooth keyboard with brains.

The problem with most portable keyboards for PDAs and smart phones is that they're tied to the expansion connector of the unit for which they were purchased. When you upgrade, you're stuffed. Not so with this low-cost model, as it connects to your device via Bluetooth. We tried it with a Nokia 7610, and installation was easy because the keyboard is supplied with a CD-ROM containing the necessary drivers for the phone. It's also compatible with a large number of Windows, Palm and Symbian devices. In use it feels well built, but the keys are too small to comfortably touch-type on. It's a shame really, as in other ways this is an impressive device.
