Nokia 7270
The very model for the modern metrosexual.
If Nokia's trio of style-led Fashion Collection mobiles were Charlie's Angels, the 7270 would be Drew Barrymore: it's the only one of the trio that could be mistaken for a bloke (or a bloke's phone, perhaps).
That's not to say it's unattractive, because like Drew, it's something of a looker - just not in the girly manner of its companions. It's a chunky little devil with decent build quality, and an attractive etched cover that can be changed through add-on style packs - unlike Drew, as far as we're aware.
All three phones in the Fashion Collection seem to have different major features left out: in this case, it's Bluetooth. Okay, that's not quite as bad as the missing keyboard on the 7280, but it's still something of a let-down. What the 7270 does have is a VGA camera that's not quite good enough for the impressive main screen, and Push to Talk, which is something that we find hard to get excited about in the UK. It does offer tri-band coverage, though, making it ideal for all those trans-Atlantic shopping trips to Macy's.
Battery life is pretty impressive - we managed close to an hour of talking over the best part of a week without the need for a recharge. The black-and-red keypad also looks good, and the large square pads make for easy texting or playing the excellent 70s chic pinball game that comes pre-loaded.
The 7270 is the best in the Fashion Collection, but rival manufacturer's handsets offer almost as much style with a better array of key features.
