MSI Wind NetOn touchscreen all-in-one desktop revealed at CES 2009
The Eee Top for Wind fans
MSI has enjoyed major success by following ASUS’ netbook lead with the MSI Wind, which has repeatedly snapped at the heels of the extensive Eee PC range. Now MSI is again offering ASUS the sincerest form of flattery, by cloning the Eee Top with its new desktop PC, the Wind NetOn.
Like the Wind netbook, the NetOn offers a stylish design and some impressive specs, including a touchscreen interface for the XP operating system. There are three models on the cards, in 16”, 19” and 22” sizes.
The 19” AE1901 is the most exciting as it is the first all-in-one computer to include Intel’s new dual-core Atom processor. Apart from being faster, the dual core CPU consumes less power and keeps the heat down. As a result the NetOn only uses 250W of power.
The 20” AE2003 is focussed more on specific entertainment functions, with the screen size and horsepower to match. It has full HD, 16:9 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, a Blu-ray drive and 802.11g/n WiFi. The CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo, which means that it can run processor-hungry Windows Vista.
