LG introduces watch phone formally at CES 2009
LG: showing off technology that you thought was never possible
It's been shown off for going on a year now, but LG's watch phone was formally introduced at CES 2009 by Dr Woo Paik himself.
Described as a mobile phone in wristwatch format, it features a touchscreen similar in looks to the Shine mobile, and has 2 hours of talk time, 3G HSDPA internet connectivity, Bluetooth, and is made from a water resistant shell with tempered glass. "You can even play your favourite songs", Paik said, going on to demonstrate...a Celine Dion ditty.
Debuting "later this year", it will apparently launch worldwide.
