CES 2009: Kodak gets rugged with the Zx1 camcorder
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough
Well, only months after the Zi6 hit the market, Kodak is showcasing its follow-up at CES - the Zx1 camcorder.
The Zx1 is the Rambo of the pocket cam world, packing a weather-resistant case tough enough to deal with anything you can throw at it. Except maybe a house brick. On the technical side, the 720p camera captures video at 60fps, with on-board editing, a 2-inch screen, direct uploading to YouTube (other video sites are available) and up to 32GB of storage via SDHC card completing the headline features. Just in case you're wondering, 32GB is around 10 hours of footage in hi-def, which should cover all but the wildest Amazonian trek.
Throw in a rechargeable battery and a HDMI cable and you have a serious contender if the price is right. We don't have that confirmed for the UK as yet, although in the US, its been confirmed at the equivalent of £100.
