ASUS unveils T91 convertible touchscreen Eee PC at CES 2009
ASUS new Tablet PC T91 is just the pill at CES 2009
ASUS today fired the first netbook shots of CES 2009, unveiling a slew of new Eee PCs including the multi-touch enabled T91 - their first convertible touchsreen tablet to come out of the Taiwanese tiny laptop specialists' stables.
The T91 weighs in at just 2lbs, is just 1" thick and boasts an 8.9" LED backlit panel convertible display. But despite the nifty swiveI touchscreen that gives the T91 real tablet, Asus were keen to point out that the T91 is the pill to cure more than just your tablet PC ills.
With an optional TV tuner and built in GPS, they're pushing the diminutive chip off the Eee PC block as a possible replacement for in-car navigation, a picture frame and even a mobile TV.
Under the bonnet, it's packing an Intel Atom Z520 but as yet there's no info on RAM or storage but in keeping with other ASUS Eee PCs, we'll be looking at 1GB RAM and the choice between solid state and traditional HDD.
No price or release date were available but we expect to see these hitting the UK within the next six months.
ASUS T91 spec:
Dimensions: 225mm (W) x 163mm (D) x 25.2-28.4mm (H)
Display: 8.9" touch panel/LED backlit
Processor: Intel Atom Z520
Operating System: Genuine Microsoft Windows XP Home
Weight: 990g
Colours: Black/White
