Case in point at this year's show is Sony's beautiful new MP3 player, the NWZ-X1000, whose gaping screen-hole has been lovingly filled with a 3-inch OLED number. OLED's chief benefits are brighter, more bountiful colours and - as is crucial for mobile devices - less power consumption than glutonous LED displays.
