Pump up the paint with Dulux PaintPod

Decorating never felt so good - all hail the PaintPod!

If Tom Sawyer had been using the PaintPod to whitewash Aunt Polly's fence that time, he'd probably have been mugged for it. Dulux has made the whole process of painting faster, cleaner and almost fun thanks to its mains-powered paint pump system. It's the most fun we've had since the Metalmaster paint gun demo anyway.

PaintPod is the size of a small cylinder vacuum cleaner and looks like a trendy picnic hamper, but for the spongy roller attached by a plastic tube to the reservoir of paint. Press 'go' and it applies the paint evenly and with no splatter. The best bit though, is the way the 'Pod cleans itself and the roller automatically when you put it all back together. So no more newspaper, white spirit, spilt paint etc.

The only catch we can see is that you're locked into buying PaintPod refills from Dulux. Apparently this stuff is specially formulated and the emulsion packs are designed to slot in neatly and eliminate any possibility of spillage.

The PaintPod and roller system costs £69.99 and 5 litre pots of PaintPod paint are £29.99 for colours and £19.99 for plain white emulsion. It's out in April
