Bose Wave Music System

Ultra compact one-box wonder.

Bose is one of those brands that polarises opinions. Yes, the products undoubtedly cost rather more than they should, but who else makes one-box hi-fi systems that sound good and look stylish? This latest offering boasts a slot-loading CD player and an FM/AM tuner, all wrapped up in a nice, minimalist package.

Unfortunately, that minimalism comes courtesy of a lack of buttons, forcing you to use the naff credit-card remote - this isn't intuitive, especially when used in low light. Sound quality is good for such a compact system, and radio reception is decent. But then you wouldn't expect anything less at this price.
