Gear4 Bass station

A new edition to the world of iPod speaker docks is here to bring your house down

The Gear4 Bass station looks pretty simple, but there's a lot more to it. Weighing in at a plump 3kg and holding an epic 5inch subwoofer within its slightly paunchy midriff, it's one big momma.

Sound quality lives up to its mammoth size and the 35w sound output. From the pinching guitars of Bloc Party to the punchy dance of the Prodigy and the metallic drum led onslaught of Marilyn Manson, it doesn't let up an inch. Each instrument sounds crisp and clear completely bypassing the reputation of some docks for being fuzz merchants nowadays.

The only disadvantage for the Gear4 is it looks as interesting as the boot of a Volvo. It's a white square box. Imaginative. We want squiggly lines, oblong shapes something other than a rectangle.

If you look past the square design the Bass station is a monster...nay, a powerhouse on your table. There's enough sound to hit Amir Kahn square in the mouth and have him out for a good 10 count.
